Yes it’s official, not only is it 12 days till Christmas (partridge in a pear tree anyone…) but it is also the last day of term and most, if not all of you, are heading home for Christmas!!
Christmas at home is great! You catch up with all the family, open presents and most importantly… FREE FOOD! However when you’ve had that sweet taste of freedom and independence for however long you’ve been away from home for it can start to feel quite, how to do I put it, stifling. Now don’t get me wrong I love going home, I miss silly things like the way my mum makes a cup of tea or even arguing with my sister, but I also feel like I need to follow the same ‘rules’ that I used to, and maybe some of you will feel that some of the independence you gained from Uni slowly taking a back burner. Don’t worry because you are not the only one!
Best thing to do is voice your concerns, your parents aren’t trying to take that independence away and will probably be more shocked than anything that you feel like that is what is happening. If you’re like me, a bit socially quite, then call up some old school friends and maybe even your new Uni friends and have night out! Not only does it get you out of the house but it blends the old with the new. 🙂
We all know what it’s like when we’re sitting round the table at Christmas and your family starts asking ‘those’ questions. ‘Do you have a boy/girlfriend?’; ‘What are your plans for the future?’; ‘What are you doing with your life?’ (ok maybe not the last one). My advice is to come up with the weirdest answers to those questions and tell me what they were in the comments below, the funnier the better!!
**UPDATE** Apparently this didn’t go up when I originally posted it so the beginning is slightly off 😛 **UPDATE**
